Description
光検出装置1は、図1に示すように、ウィンドシールドガラス7の自動車室内側表面に直接取り付けられている。光検出装置1は運転者の前方視界を妨げない位置、たとえばリヤビューミラーの陰等に配置されている。光検出装置1のウィンドシールドガラス7への取り付けは、図示しない光透過性テープあるいはブラケット等を介してなされる。図1において左右方向が自動車の前後方向であり、図1において上下方向が自動車の上下方向であり、図1の左方が自動車前方、上方が自動車上方である。本発明の第1実施形態による光検出装置1が取り付けられているウィンドシールドガラス7は、図1に示すように、その下端から上端に向かうに連れて自動車前方から後方に向かうように傾斜している。
次に、本発明の第2実施形態による光検出装置1について説明する。本発明の第2実施形態による光検出装置1は、本発明の第1実施形態による光検出装置1に対して、導光体5およびその取付構造を変更したものである。すなわち、本発明の第1実施形態による光検出装置1においては、導光体5は蓋部材6に設けられた貫通孔である保持孔6a内に垂直上向き方向に露出させないようにして収容されているが、本発明の第2実施形態による光検出装置1では、導光体5の一部、詳しくは、図3に示すように、導光体5の入射面5a側端部が垂直上向き方向に露出した状態で収容されている。

Claims (3)
- ウィンドシールドおよび前記ウィンドシールドの室内側に配置された遮光体と、前記遮光体を貫通する孔に配置された導光体を透過した車外の周辺光を受光する受光素子を備え、前記受光素子が受光量に応じて発する出力信号に基づいて車外の明るさを検出する照度センサであって、
前記導光体は前記ウィンドシールドガラスに対向し前記周辺光が入射する入射面および前記受光素子の受光部に対向し前記受光部へ向けて前記導光体内を進行してきた前記周辺光を出射させる出射面を備え、
前記入射面の法線方向は、照度センサの使用状態において水平方向よりも下向き方向であることを特徴とする照度センサ。 - 前記導光体は、前記ウィンドシールドおよび前記ウィンドシールドの室内側に配置された遮光体を貫通する孔に配置され、
前記入射面は前記遮光体により照度センサの使用状態における垂直上向き方向に露出していないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の照度センサ。 - 前記入射面は、平面状に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2のどちらか一つに記載の請求項1に記載の照度センサ。
