図3aはキャリアー層42及び配向層41とともに基板本体4を示す。印刷層43を配向層41に局所的に付与する。印刷層43は凹凸構造40の溝を埋める。例えばTTFプリンターまたはインクジェットプリンターにより、その種類の有色または無色の印刷を行うことによって、特に狙いを定めた態様で充填することにより配向層41の複数の領域を被覆し或いは消失させる。以降、印刷により不活性化された感光性高分子領域すなわち印刷により充填された表面構造領域では液晶材料の配列は生じせず、それによりそれら領域では液晶分子の等方分布が優勢となる。偏光装置の下に、液晶材料の配向により非印刷領域で「YES/NO」情報が得られるが、印刷によって不活性化すなわち充填された領域において液晶はなんら好適な配向も示さず、それによりいずれの光学活性情報も有しない。
ここで、中央サブプロセスにおいて、フィルム本体6は、キャリアー層61に剥離・保護ラッカー層63を付与し、複製ラッカー層を印刷により付与し、複製ラッカー層を乾燥し、回折構造67を複製し、印刷によりLCP層65を付与しLCP層65を物理的に乾燥し、保護層66を付与することにより製造される。ここで、中央分散のサブプロセスにおいて、基板本体71はセキュリティー・ドキュメント72に塗布される(セキュリティー・ドキュメント72の個別化後、選択可能とする)。その次に、図3a、3bについて述べたように、剥離層74とともにキャリー層73を基板本体71から外し、配向層75を個別化する。そして、保護層66をフィルム本体6から外し、フィルム本体6を基板本体71の層75へと層65により積層する。
図7aはキャリアー層81、LCP層82、複製層83、反射層84及び粘着層85を有するフィルム本体8を示す。
Claims (13)
- 偏光特性を有する個別化された、光学的に可変な素子(51)の製造プロセスにおいて、
二層またはそれ以上の層を有し且つ液晶材料からなるLCP層(32、65、82)を有するフィルム本体(3、6、8)と、液晶配向のための配向層(41、75、96)を有する基板本体(4、71、9)と、をそれぞれ製造し、
前記基板本体(4、71、9)の前記配向層(41、75、96)を個別化し、前記フィルム本体(3、6、8)のLCP層(32、65、82)が前記基板本体(4、71、9)の個別化された配向層(41、75、96)上に位置するように、前記フィルム本体(3、6、8)を前記基板本体(4、71、9)の個別化された配向層(41、75、96)に適用し、及び、前記基板本体(4、71、9)の個別化された配向層(41、75、96)に前記フィルム本体(3、6、8)を適用した後に、前記フィルム本体(3、6、8)のLCP層(32、65、82)を加熱により液化させ、これにより、前記基板本体(4、71、9)の個別化された配向層(41、75、96)に前記フィルム本体(3、6、8)のLCP層(32、65、82)の液晶材料の整列を行うことを特徴とする製造プロセス。 - 前記基板本体(4)の前記配向層(41)をこの配向層上の部分印刷(43)により個別化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記基板本体(4)の前記配向層(41)を前記基板本体(4)の前記配向層(41)上の異なる配向の配向層(41)の部分転写により個別化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記基板本体の前記配向層をこの配向層の部分機械的除去により個別化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記基板本体の前記配向層をこの配向層の部分熱変型により個別化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記基板本体の前記配向層を前記配向層が凹凸構造の複製により個別化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記基板本体の前記配向層を前記配向層の露出により個別化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記フィルム本体(3)の前記LCP層(32)の前記液晶材料の整列を前記基板本体
(4)の個別化された配向層(41)で行うことを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。 - 前記液晶を整列するために前記基板本体(4)にフィルム本体を適用した後、前記フィルム本体(3)の前記LCP層(32)を加熱することを特徴とする請求項8に記載のプロセス。
- スタンピングフィルム、積層フィルムまたはステッカー・フィルムを前記基板本体(71、9)として用いたことを特徴とする請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記基板本体(71)を形成する前記スタンピングフィルム、前記積層フィルムまたは前記ステッカー・フィルムを、前記基板本体(71)に前記フィルム本体(6)が適用される前に、セキュリティー・ドキュメント(72)に適用することを特徴とする請求項10に記載のプロセス。
- 前記基板本体(4、7)はセキュリティー・ドキュメントを形成するキャリアー層(42、72)を有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
- スタンピングフィルム、積層フィルムまたはステッカー・フィルムを前記フィルム本体(3、6、8)として用い、前記フィルム本体を熱スタンピングまたは積層処理で前記基板本体(4、7、9)に適用することを特徴とする請求項1乃至12のいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
