カゴに入れて1日当りの自由走行距離を測定した。強制
的に走行させる場合は、トレッドミル走行装置(回転す
るベルトの後方に電気ショックを与える装置を設けてあ
り、ベルト上の動物はベルトの動きに合わせて強制的に
走行させられる)を用いて試験動物が倒れる迄にどれだ
けの距離を走行したかを測定した。尚、後者の場合は各
試験動物群毎に霊芝エキス又は水道水を与えながら8週
間の走行トレーニングを積んだ後に試験を行った。後述
する実験例で示す様に、いずれの場合においても、霊芝
エキスを与えた群の方が、水道水を与えた群よりも走行
距離が長かった。また自由飲水投与でなく腹腔内投与や
胃内投与でも霊芝エキスを与えた群の方が生食水や水道
水を与えた群よりも走行距離を伸ばした。これらの結果
から霊芝エキスを投与することにより、筋肉労働におけ
る何らかの代謝が改善され、その結果として持久力が高
められるに至ったものであると考えられ、霊芝成分が持
久力を必要とする広義の有酸素運動に効力を示すことを

表的なものはドリンクである。代表的な組成を示すと、

の試験条件でも霊芝投与の方が、水道水を与えた対照区
よりも1日当りの平均走行距離は長くなった。さらに投
与期間が長い程一日あたりの平均走行距離は長くなって
いる。また同じ投与期間で霊芝エキス濃度が0.25%と0.
5 %と異なる場合を比較すると、マウスの雄で見られる
ように0.5 %群の方が多少走行距離が延びており、対照
区との比も更に大きくなっている。ラットとマウスの間

与が一番良かった。いずれにしても霊芝投与区は対照区
の1.2 〜1.3 倍の走行距離があり、自由摂取でも充分な

芝成分を含有する組成物は、長距離走行能力を増大させ
