Abstract
【解決手段】光共振器構造に組み込まれた発光体に、励起光源からの光を効率よく導入することにより、発光体を高い光密度で励起し、レーザ発振させることが可能な固体色素レーザを実現する。具体的には、励起光源の光を受光して発光する第1の発光体と、第1の発光体に隣接する光共振器とを有し、光共振器は、励起光源および第1の発光体が発光する光を受光して発光する第2の発光体を有する固体色素レーザを提供する。

本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様である固体色素レーザの構成について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本実施の形態1とは異なる本発明の一態様である固体色素レーザの構成について説明する。すなわち、実施の形態1では、固体色素レーザが封止構造を有する場合(図2(C)参照)、封止構造の内部には光源が設けられていなかったが、本実施の形態2では、封止構造の内部に光源を設ける場合について説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1や実施の形態2で説明した場合に比べて、基板上に分離形成される第1の発光体および第2の発光体の1つ当たりの面積が小さく、また、分離形成される第1の発光体および第2の発光体の数が多くなる場合について、図4を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1や実施の形態2で説明した場合に比べて、基板501上に分離形成される第2の発光体504の1つ当たりの面積が小さく、また、分離形成される第2の発光体504の数が多くなる場合であり、さらに、第1の発光体503については、複数個に分離形成される実施の形態3の構造とは異なり、グレーティング502の有無にかかわらず同一膜で基板501上に形成される場合について図5を用いて説明する。

Claims (11)
- 励起光源の光を受光して発光する第1の発光体と、前記第1の発光体に隣接する光共振器とを有し、
前記光共振器は、前記励起光源および前記第1の発光体が発光する光を受光して発光する第2の発光体を有する固体色素レーザ。 - 請求項1において、
前記光共振器は、回折格子構造、フォトニック結晶構造、または端面を反射面とする薄膜である固体色素レーザ。 - 基板上に形成された第1の発光体および光共振器を有し、
前記光共振器は、回折格子および第2の発光体を含み、
前記第1の発光体は、励起光源が発する光を吸収する物質からなり、
前記第2の発光体は、前記励起光源および前記第1の発光体が発する光を吸収する物質からなり、
前記第1の発光体および前記第2の発光体は、前記基板および前記回折格子と重なる位置に部分的にそれぞれ分離形成される固体色素レーザ。 - 基板上に形成された回折格子を複数有し、
前記基板および前記回折格子と重なる位置に部分的に第1の発光体または第2の発光体のいずれか一方が形成され、
前記第1の発光体は、光源が発する光を吸収する物質からなり、
前記第2の発光体は、前記光源および前記第1の発光体が発する光を吸収する物質からなる固体色素レーザ。 - 基板上に形成された回折格子を複数有し、
前記基板および前記回折格子上に第1の発光体が形成され、
少なくとも前記回折格子の一部およびそれと重なる前記第1の発光体上に第2の発光体が形成され、
前記第1の発光体は、光源が発する光を吸収する物質からなり、
前記第2の発光体は、前記光源および前記第1の発光体が発する光を吸収する物質からなる固体色素レーザ。 - 一対の基板間に光源、第1の発光体、および光共振器を有し、
前記光共振器は、回折格子および第2の発光体を含み、
前記光源は、一方の基板に形成され、
前記第1の発光体および前記回折格子は、他方の基板に接して形成され、かつ、前記第2の発光体は、少なくとも前記回折格子と重なる位置に形成され、
前記第1の発光体は、前記光源が発する光を吸収する物質からなり、
前記第2の発光体は、前記光源および前記第1の発光体が発する光を吸収する物質からなる固体色素レーザ。 - 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一において、
前記光源は、有機EL、発光ダイオード、冷陰極管、平面蛍光ランプのいずれか一である固体色素レーザ。 - 一対の基板間に発光素子、第1の発光体、および光共振器を有し、
前記光共振器は、回折格子および第2の発光体を含み、
前記発光素子は、一方の基板に形成され、
前記第1の発光体および前記回折格子は、他方の基板に接して形成され、かつ、前記第2の発光体は、少なくとも前記回折格子と重なる位置に形成され、
前記第1の発光体は、前記発光素子が発する光を吸収する物質からなり、
前記第2の発光体は、前記発光素子および前記第1の発光体が発する光を吸収する物質からなる固体色素レーザ。 - 請求項1乃至請求項8のいずれか一において、
前記第1の発光体には、発光量子効率が50%以上の物質を用いる固体色素レーザ。 - 請求項1乃至請求項9のいずれか一において、
前記第2の発光体は、スチルベン系、クマリン系、キサンテン系、シアニン系、オキサジン系、ローダミン系、スチリル系の発光量子効率が50%以上であり、かつレーザ活性を有する物質を用いる固体色素レーザ。 - 請求項1乃至請求項10のいずれか一において、
前記基板上の端部であって、前記光共振器によって固体色素レーザが発振される方向とは異なる方向に反射体を有する固体色素レーザ。
