Abstract
Description
共同支持体フィッシャー−トロプシュ触媒を使用して作製されたフィッシャー−トロプシュワックスのサンプルを分析し、表Iで示される性質を有することが分かった。
実施例1に記載されたワックスを、真鍮ダイで溶融ワックスを成型することにより直径約10mmの実質的に球状の粒子に形成した。15gのワックス粒子を直径2インチの真鍮/青銅ペレットプレスで単一層にした。ペレットプレスのプランジャーに大きな錘をゆっくりと且つ均等に置いて690g/cm2の荷重をワックス粒子に付加した。690g/cm2の荷重は、40%の空隙率を有する0.936g/cm3のワックス密度と仮定して、上から下に向けて押圧する凡そ12メートル(40フィート)の固体ワックス粒子の力に相当する。粒子は20℃の温度で荷重下で貯蔵される。1週間後に、荷重を取り除き、ペレットプレス上のプランジャーを注意深くゆっくりと動かしてワックス粒子を押出す。未被覆ワックス粒子は固着して単独の固体の塊になったことが観察された。圧縮されたワックスの塊をペトリ皿に置き、次いで傾けた場合、ワックスはさらに1つの大きな塊として固着した。これは、旅の終わりには船倉からワックスを取り出すことが極めて困難であり費用が掛かるので、未被覆ワックスが巨大輸送船舶の船倉において船輸送することができないことを証明した。
実施例2に記載された直径10mmのワックス粒子を、粒子をプラスチックバッグの中で次の粉末の1つと一緒に振動させることにより被覆した:1.8重量%の二酸化チタン(JT Baker社)、0.7重量%のγ−アルミナ(Buehler社の0.05ミクロン)、2.8重量%の炭酸カルシウム(JT Baker社)、1.0重量%の白色小麦粉(Gold Medal社)、1.0重量%の粉砂糖(C&H社)、又は0.1重量%の活性炭(Darco KB−B、Aldrich社)。この様にして、各タイプの15gの被覆粒子を、直径2インチの真鍮/青銅ペレットプレスの中に個々に置き、20℃の温度で1週間、被覆ワックス粒子に690g/cm2の荷重を付加した。付加した荷重を取り除き、次いで、ワックス粒子をペレットプレスから注意深く取り出した。次いで、被覆ワックス粒子をペトリ皿に置き、次いで、粒子の流動の仕方を観察するために約30度傾けた。実施例2及び3からの観察は以下の表IIに纏められる。
有効性に乏しいものと高度に有効な粉末コーティング材料を区別するために、本発明者らは、加熱溶融したワックスの小滴が同じ温度に加熱されたテスト粉末と如何に相互に作用するのかを観察することにより、実施例2及び3で使用された加圧テストでの粉末コーティングの性能を予測することが可能であることを見出した。従って、80℃に加熱された実施例1のフィッシャー−トロプシュワックス(FTワックス)の一滴を、へらで平らにされた約3gのテスト粉末の上に置き、又80℃に加熱した。次いで、ワックス及びテスト粉末を20℃に冷却した。観察を、80℃において及び20℃に冷却した後で行った。この観察は以下の表IIIに纏められる。
Claims (30)
- a.427℃(800°F)未満のT10沸点を有する高パラフィン系ワックス、及び
b.無機粉末コーティング
を含む顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。 - 前記高パラフィン系ワックスが、538℃(1000°F)を超えるT90沸点をさらに有する、請求項1に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子のサイズが最長方向において0.3〜50mmである、請求項1に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子の形状が、粒状、錠剤状、楕円状、円筒状、球状、卵形及び本質的に球状の群から選択される、請求項1に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 前記無機粉末が、酸化物、水酸化物、炭酸塩、リン酸塩、ケイ酸塩、及びこれらの組合せの群から選択される、請求項1に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 前記無機粉末が、周期律表(IUPAC 1997年)の1、2、3、4、5、6、7、8、9、10、11、12、13、又は14族の1つ又は複数の元素を含む、請求項5に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 前記無機粉末が、γ−アルミナ、α−アルミナ、酸化チタン、及びこれらの混合物の群から選択される、請求項1に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 顆粒状固体ワックス粒子全体に対する百分率としての無機粉末コーティングの量が0.1〜5重量%である、請求項1に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 前記高パラフィン系ワックスがフィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のものである、請求項1に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- a.343℃(650°F)未満のT10沸点及び538℃(1000°F)を超えるT90沸点を有する高パラフィン系ワックス、及び
b.前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子の組成物全体の0.1〜5重量%の量の無機粉末コーティング
を含む、請求項1に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。 - a.427℃(800°F)未満のT10沸点を有する第1の高パラフィン系ワックス、
b.前記第1の高パラフィン系ワックス上に置かれた510℃(950°F)を超えるT10沸点を有する第2の高パラフィン系ワックスの層、及び
c.前記第2の高パラフィン系ワックスの外側上の無機粉末コーティング
を含む顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。 - a.427℃(800°F)未満のT10沸点を有するワックス、及び
b.熱滴下ワックステストで前記ワックスによりカプセル化されずに前記ワックスを吸着する粉末のコーティング
を含む顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。 - 前記粉末が、酸化物、水酸化物、炭酸塩、リン酸塩、ケイ酸塩、及びこれらの組合せからなる群から選択される無機粉末である、請求項12に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 前記粉末が、周期律表(IUPAC 1997年)の1、2、3、4、5、6、7、8、9、10、11、12、13及び14族の1つ又は複数の元素を含む、請求項12に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- 前記粉末が、γ−アルミナ、α−アルミナ、酸化チタン、及びこれらの混合物の群から選択される、請求項12に記載の顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
- a.(i)427℃(800°F)未満のT10沸点を有する高パラフィン系ワックスを選択する工程、
(ii)前記ワックスを最長方向において0.1〜50mmの直径の固体粒子に形成する工程、
(iii)前記ワックス粒子を無機粉末でコーティングする工程
により顆粒状固体ワックス粒子を生成する工程、
b.前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子を輸送船舶に積み込む工程、
c.前記積み込んだ顆粒状固体ワックス粒子を輸送する工程、及び
d.前記積み込んだ顆粒状固体ワックス粒子を荷降ろしする工程
を含む、ワックスの輸送方法。 - 前記輸送船舶における前記積み込んだ顆粒状固体ワックス粒子の高さが7.5メートルを超える、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子の水素化処理工程をさらに含む、前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子を基油製造プラントまで輸送するための請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記高パラフィン系ワックスが、538℃(1000°F)を超えるT90沸点をさらに有する、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記輸送船舶が原油タンカーである、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記高パラフィン系ワックスがフィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のものである、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子から前記無機粉末コーティングを除去する工程をさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記除去工程が、摩擦、空気吹き付け、ろ過、粘土処理、水洗、酸洗浄、蒸留、溶融、又はこれらの組合せにより行われる、請求項22に記載の方法。
- 荷降ろし前に前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子のスラリーを形成する工程をさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- a.(i)1)427℃(800°F)未満のT10沸点、又は
2)25℃で3mm/10を超える、ASTM D1321による針侵入度
を有する高パラフィン系ワックス、及び
(ii)粉末コーティング
を含む顆粒状固体ワックス粒子を、輸送船舶において7.5メートルを超える高さで、遠隔地に輸送する工程、及び
b.前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子を水素化処理して1つ又は複数の基油を生成する工程
を含む、遠隔地から輸送されたワックスから基油を作製する方法。 - 前記高パラフィン系ワックスがフィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のものである、請求項25に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末コーティングの粉末が、熱滴下ワックステストで前記ワックスによりカプセル化されずに前記ワックスを吸着する、請求項25に記載の方法。
- 水素化処理工程前に前記顆粒状固体ワックス粒子から前記粉末コーティングを除去する工程をさらに含む、請求項25に記載の方法。
- 前記水素化処理工程の1つ又は複数の液体生成物から前記粉末コーティングを除去する工程をさらに含む、請求項25に記載の方法。
- a.25℃で3mm/10を超える、ASTM D1321による針侵入度を有するワックス、及び
b.熱滴下ワックステストで前記ワックスによりカプセル化されずに前記ワックスを吸着する無機粉末のコーティング
を含む顆粒状固体ワックス粒子。
