Claims (22)
- チタン酸アルミニウムの相、0.50未満である関係式(d50−d10)/d50により特徴付けられる狭い細孔サイズ分布、
15×10-7/℃未満の熱膨張係数(室温〜1000℃)、
少なくとも38体積%の気孔率、および
ビスマス、カルシウム、イットリウム、ランタニドおよびそれらの組合せからなる群より選択される金属の、少なくとも0.10質量%の金属酸化物
を有するセラミック物体。 - 前記関係式(d50−d10)/d50が0.35未満であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 前記関係式(d50−d10)/d50が0.25未満であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 前記関係式(d50−d10)/d50が0.23以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 前記関係式(d50−d10)/d50が0.50未満かつ0.18より大きいことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- ムライトの相をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 10×10-7/℃未満の熱膨張係数(室温〜1000℃)を示すことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 45〜60体積%の気孔率を示すことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。

- 少なくとも500psi(約3.45MPa)の、円柱ロッドに四点法を用いた破壊係数(MOR)を示すことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 少なくとも600psi(約4.14MPa)の、円柱ロッドに四点法を用いた破壊係数(MOR)を示すことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 少なくとも700psi(約4.81MPa)の、円柱ロッドに四点法を用いた破壊係数(MOR)を示すことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 10×10-7/℃未満の熱膨張係数(室温〜1000℃)、45〜60体積%の気孔率、および10〜20マイクロメートルのメジアン細孔直径を含む一組の性質を示すことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体。
- 0.25未満である関係式(d50−d10)/d50により特徴付けられる狭い細孔サイズ分布を示すことを特徴とする請求項15記載のセラミック物体。
- 10×10-7/℃未満の熱膨張係数(室温〜1000℃)、45〜60体積%の気孔率、10〜20マイクロメートルのメジアン細孔直径、および高い有効気孔率に相当する、0.35以下である関係式(d50−d10)/d50により特徴付けられる狭い細孔サイズ分布を示すことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体から形成されたディーゼル排気ガス微粒子フィルタ。
- 0.25未満である関係式(d50−d10)/d50、
10×10-7/℃未満の熱膨張係数(室温〜1000℃)、および
45〜60体積%の気孔率、
を示すことを特徴とする請求項1記載のセラミック物体から形成されたディーゼル排気ガス微粒子フィルタ。 - チタン酸アルミニウムセラミック物体を製造する方法であって、
ビスマス、カルシウム、イットリウム、ランタニドおよびそれらの組合せからなる群より選択される金属の酸化物に相当する、少なくとも0.10質量%の量の超過添加量で焼結添加剤としての金属酸化物の供給源と組み合わせて、アルミナ源、シリカ源、および二酸化チタン源を含む無機原料の混合物を提供し、
前記混合物を物体に成形し、
前記物体を、1から15時間の期間に亘り1375℃から1550℃の温度まで焼成する、
各工程を有してなり、
前記無機原料のメジアン粒径の加重平均D50が、少なくとも8マイクロメートルの焼成後のチタン酸アルミニウムセラミック物体におけるメジアン細孔サイズD50を形成するように少なくとも6マイクロメートルであることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記金属酸化物を、0.10質量%から5.0質量%の量で前記無機原料の混合物に加えることを特徴とする請求項19記載の方法。
- 前記アルミナ源が15マイクロメートルより大きいメジアン粒径を有することを特徴とする請求項19記載の方法。
- 前記アルミナ源および前記二酸化チタン源が、少なくとも10マイクロメートルのメジアン粒径または凝集塊直径を有することを特徴とする請求項19記載の方法。
