Abstract
【解決手段】 照度センサー4が表示装置1の設置された環境の明るさを検出し、制御部7に入力する。制御部7は、入力された情報に応じて表示装置1をパワーセーブモードへ移行するか否かを決定する。パワーセーブモードへ移行するときは、バックライト駆動信号生成部6の動作を停止させるとともに、液晶表示パネル2への電力および表示信号の供給を停止させる。

Description
図1は、この発明の一の実施の形態に係る表示装置1の主要な構成を示すブロック図である。図1に示すように、この表示装置1は、バックライトユニット3の前面に液晶パネル2が配置された液晶型の表示装置である。
表示装置1がパワーセーブモードへ移行する基準となる基準照度値は、利用者による設定変更が可能である。利用者によって設定された基準照度値は制御部7に記憶される。基準照度値の具体的な設定方法は以下の通りである。
次に、表示装置1の動作について説明する。
Claims (6)
- コンピュータ装置に接続され、通常モードに対して電力消費を抑えて動作するパワーセーブモードで動作可能な表示装置であって、
設置された環境の明るさを検出した照度値を出力する照度検出手段と、
前記照度値が所定の照度値より小さくなったときは、前記コンピュータ装置からの入力信号に拘わらず、動作モードを前記パワーセーブモードに移行させる制御手段、
を備えることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の表示装置であって、
前記所定の照度値は、任意の値に設定されることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1または請求項2に記載の表示装置であって、さらに、
前記照度検出手段の検出した前記照度値および前記所定の照度値がオンスクリーンディスプレイされることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれかに記載の表示装置であって、
前記制御手段は、
前記パワーセーブモードへ移行させる機能を無効にするか否かを選択する手段、
を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1ないし請求項4のいずれかに記載の表示装置であって、さらに、
バックライトユニットと、
前記バックライトユニットの前面に配置された表示パネルと、
を備え、
前記パワーセーブモードは、前記バックライトユニットを消灯する動作モードであることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項5に記載の表示装置であって、
前記表示パネルは液晶表示パネルであることを特徴とする表示装置。
