Description

The present invention relates to a waterproof structure for a cable harness used for electrical connection between devices and the like.

The cable harness is formed by bundling a plurality of electric cables composed of a core wire made of an electrically conductive material and a covering material made of an electrically insulating material covering the outer periphery of the core wire, and the outer periphery of the cable harness is made of an electrically insulating material. It has the structure further covered with the outer skin. Such a cable harness connects devices through a connector provided at the end, but water has entered the cable due to damage to the outer cover (or the outer cover and further the covering material of the internal electric cable). In some cases, so-called capillarity causes the water to spread throughout the cable, corroding the connectors and equipment components connected to the cable, or shorting the connector terminals to cause problems. There is. Since such capillary action progresses between bundled electric cables or through the gaps between the core wires of each electric cable, a portion where the core wire is exposed is formed in the middle portion of the electric cable, and the exposed core wire is formed. A method has been devised in which solder is impregnated on the outer surface of the substrate to prevent the progress of capillary action (see the following patent document).

Alternatively, instead of impregnating the exposed part of the core wire with solder, cut the middle part of the cable harness once and then apply it by exposing the core line, and electrically insulate the neighboring area including the joint Also known is a method of mold-sealing with a conductive resin. According to this method, not only the core wire portion but also the surrounding area can be hermetically sealed, so that there is an advantage that the prevention efficiency of the capillary phenomenon can be improved.
JP 2002-275998 A

However, the method of sealing the mold after cutting the intermediate part of the cable harness as described above is excellent in the effect of preventing the capillary phenomenon, but after cutting the cable harness once, it depends on the cores. Since a complicated process of combining them is required, there is a problem that the cost is increased.

The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a waterproof structure for a cable harness that can prevent various problems due to capillary action at a low cost.

The waterproof structure of the cable harness according to the present invention includes a core wire made of an electrically conductive material and a plurality of electrical cables made of a covering material made of an electrically insulating material that covers an outer periphery of the core wire to form a cable bundle. The cable bundle has a waterproof structure in which the outer peripheral portion of the cable bundle is covered with an outer skin made of an electrically insulating material, and is formed by removing a part of the outer skin so that a part of the cable bundle is exposed. And a resin molding part that hermetically seals a part of the cable bundle exposed in the skin removal part together with the skin located in the vicinity of the skin removal part with an electrically insulating resin.

Further, in the waterproof structure of the cable harness, each electric cable constituting the cable bundle exposed in the outer skin removing portion is a covering material formed by removing a part of the covering material so that a part of the core wire is exposed. It is preferable to have a removal portion, and the covering material removal portion is hermetically sealed by the resin molding portion together with the outer skin removal portion.

The waterproof structure of the cable harness according to the present invention includes an outer skin removing part formed by removing a part of the outer skin so that a part of the cable bundle is exposed, and a part of the cable bundle exposed in the outer skin removing part. Since it has a resin molding part that is hermetically sealed with a resin of an electrically insulating material together with an outer skin located in the vicinity of the outer skin removal part, it penetrates from scratches entering the outer skin, and an electric cable due to capillary action The water that has spread into the cable through the gaps between them is blocked by the resin molding part and has a waterproof effect. For this reason, the water spreading in the cable does not reach the connector or the device, and it is possible to prevent the occurrence of problems such as corrosion due to the penetration of water. Moreover, in the cable harness which concerns on this invention, since the process of once cutting | disconnecting the intermediate part and matching core wires is not required like the past, the said waterproof effect can be acquired at low cost.

Further, in the waterproof structure of the cable harness, each of the electric cables constituting the cable bundle exposed in the outer skin removing portion has a covering material removing portion from which a part of the covering material is removed so that a part of the core wire is exposed. If the cover material removal part has a structure that is hermetically sealed by the resin molding part together with the outer skin removal part, each electric cable is configured in addition to the water that spreads in the cable from the gap between the electric cables. Since the water spreading along the core wire is also dammed by the resin molding part, the effect of preventing various problems caused by the capillary phenomenon is further enhanced.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. 1 to 3 show a cable harness 1 having a waterproof structure according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The cable harness 1 has connectors 10 and 20 at both ends thereof, and by fitting the connectors 10 and 20 to the connector 31 of the first device 30 and the connector 41 of the second device 40, The first and second devices 30 and 40 are connected in a state where signal transmission is possible.

As shown in FIG. 3, the cable harness 1 includes a plurality of electric cables 2 (seven here) bundled to form a cable bundle 6, and the outer periphery of the cable bundle 6 is formed by an outer skin 7 made of an electrically insulating material. Furthermore, it has a covered structure. Each electric cable 2 has a configuration in which an outer peripheral portion of a core wire 3 made of an electrically conductive material is covered with a covering material 4 made of an electrically insulating material, and the core wire 3 of each electric cable 2 is connected to an adjacent electric cable 2. The core wire 3 is electrically insulated from the core wire 3. The outer skin 7 collects a plurality of electric cables 2 in a predetermined arrangement shape and protects the covering material 4 from being easily damaged. As shown in FIG. 1, the outer sheath 7 at the end of the cable harness 1 is removed and each electric cable 2 is exposed, and is connected to a terminal (not shown) of the connector 10 (or connector 20). It has become so.

In the vicinity of the connector 10 (or connector 20) connecting portion in the cable harness 1, a skin removing portion 8 formed by removing a part of the outer skin 7 so that a part of the cable bundle 6 is exposed, and this outer skin. A waterproof structure is provided that includes a resin molding portion 9 that hermetically seals a part of the cable bundle 6 exposed in the removal portion 8 together with the outer skin 7 located in the vicinity of the outer skin removal portion 8 with an electrically insulating resin. . This waterproof structure is a component of the connectors 10 and 20 and the devices 30 and 40 because when the water enters from the wound that enters the outer skin 7 of the cable harness 1, the water spreads over the entire cable due to capillary action. It is provided in order to prevent a situation (such as a terminal) from being corroded. In addition, the said resin molding part 9 can be shape | molded by the overmolding method using the below-mentioned mold die.

An example of the manufacturing procedure of the cable harness having such a waterproof structure is shown. First, the outer skin 7 of the partial region L of the cable harness (indicated by reference numeral 1a in FIG. 4) in a state where the waterproof structure is not applied is removed (first step, FIGS. 4A and 4B). See), the mold Die 51 in the cable harness 1a so as to include the region L from which the outer skin 7 has been removed (this region corresponds to the outer skin removing portion 8) and the outer skin 7 located in the vicinity of this region L. 52 is attached (second step, see FIG. 4C). When the mold dies 51 and 52 are attached to the cable harness 1a, the electrically insulating resin 9a is injected from the resin injection port 53 provided on one of the dies 51 and 52 (third step, FIG. 4C). , (D)), after the resin 9a is cured (resin molding part 9 is formed), the mold dies 51 and 52 are removed from the cable harness 1 (fourth step; see FIG. 4E). Thereby, the cable harness 1 having the waterproof structure is obtained.

As described above, the waterproof structure of the cable harness shown in the first embodiment includes the outer skin removing portion 8 formed by removing a part of the outer skin 7 so that a part of the cable bundle 6 is exposed, and the outer skin removal. Since a part of the cable bundle 6 exposed in the part 8 has a resin molding part 9 hermetically sealed with a resin 9a of an electrically insulating material together with an outer skin located in the vicinity of the outer skin removal part 8. The water that has entered the outer skin 7 and has spread into the cables through the gap between the electric cables 2 due to the capillary phenomenon is blocked by the resin molding portion 9 and has a waterproof effect. For this reason, the water which spreads in the cable does not reach the connectors 10 and 20 and the devices 30 and 40, and it is possible to prevent the occurrence of problems such as corrosion due to water penetration. Moreover, in this cable harness 1, since the process which cut | disconnects the intermediate part once and relies on the core wires 3 like the conventional one is not required, the said waterproof effect can be acquired at low cost.

Next, 2nd Embodiment of the waterproof structure of the cable harness which concerns on this invention is shown. FIG. 5 shows a cable harness 1 ′ to which the waterproof structure according to the second embodiment is applied, and is the same as FIG. 1 used in the description of the cable harness 1 to which the waterproof structure according to the first embodiment is applied. A portion corresponding to the region is shown. Here, the same reference numerals (symbols shown in FIG. 5) used in the description of the cable harness 1 ′ according to the second embodiment and the same reference numerals used in the description of the cable harness 1 according to the first embodiment are the same. Represents the components.

The cable harness 1 ′ having the waterproof structure according to the second embodiment has the same basic configuration as the cable harness 1 having the waterproof structure according to the first embodiment, and a plurality of electric cables 2 are bundled. The cable bundle 6 is configured, and the outer peripheral portion of the cable bundle 6 is covered with an outer skin 7 made of an electrically insulating material, and a part of the outer skin 7 is removed so that a part of the cable bundle 6 is exposed. The formed outer skin removing portion 8 and a resin molded portion that seals and seals a part of the cable bundle 6 exposed in the outer skin removing portion 8 together with the outer skin 7 located in the vicinity of the outer skin removing portion 8 with an electrically insulating resin. 9. In addition to such a configuration, part of the covering material 4 is removed so that each of the electric cables 2 constituting the cable bundle 6 exposed in the outer skin removing unit 8 is partly exposed. The covering material removing portion 5 is formed, and the covering material removing portion 5 is hermetically sealed by the resin molding portion 9 together with the outer skin removing portion 8.

In the cable harness 1 ′ having such a waterproof structure, water that spreads in the cable from the gap between the electric cables 2 and water that spreads through the core wire 3 constituting each electric cable 2 is dammed by the resin molding portion 9. Since it will be stopped, the effect of preventing various problems caused by the capillary phenomenon is further enhanced.

In order to manufacture the cable harness 1 ′ having such a waterproof structure, in the manufacturing process of the cable harness 1 according to the first embodiment described above, the second process is started after the first process is completed. A step of removing a part of the covering material 4 of the electric cable 2 constituting the exposed cable bundle 6 (a step of forming the covering material removing portion 5) may be inserted.

Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described so far, the scope of the present invention is not limited to those shown in the above-described embodiments. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the portion to which the waterproof structure of the cable harness is applied is in the vicinity of the connector connection portion (that is, the end portion of the cable harness), but this is an example, and is not necessarily in the vicinity of the connector connection portion. It does not have to be provided. However, as shown in the above-described embodiment, if the water that has penetrated from the wound entering the outer skin spreads in the cable due to capillary action and prevents this from reaching the connector, it is provided near the connection portion of the connector. It is preferable. Although not particularly shown in the above-described embodiment, the waterproof structure may be provided at a plurality of locations of the cable harness. With such a configuration, diffusion of water in the cable due to capillary action is effectively prevented. It becomes possible to do.

It is a fragmentary sectional view (equivalent to the area | region I shown in FIG. 2) of the cable harness to which the waterproof structure which concerns on 1st Embodiment of this invention was applied. It is a figure which shows the state which connected apparatuses with the said cable harness. It is sectional drawing of the cable harness seen from the arrow III-III in FIG. 第1実施形態に係る防水構造を有したケーブルハーネスを製造する手順を(A)→(E)の順で示す図である。It is a figure which shows the procedure which manufactures the cable harness which has the waterproof structure which concerns on 1st Embodiment in order of (A)-> (E). It is a fragmentary sectional view of the cable harness to which the waterproof structure which concerns on 2nd Embodiment of this invention was applied.
