Claims (8)

【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 互いに圧接し回転自在に配設される定着
体及び加圧体と、該定着体を加熱する加熱手段と、定着
体の表面温度を検知する定着体温度検知手段と、該定着
体温度検知手段によって検知された定着体表面温度が目
標温度となるよう加熱手段の加熱を制御する制御手段
と、定着体及び加圧体を回転駆動させる駆動手段とを備
え、未定着像を担持する記録媒体を定着体及び加圧体に
よって挟持搬送させ加熱及び加圧することにより上記未
定着像を上記記録媒体に定着させる定着装置であって、
加熱手段は、定着体内に配設され互いに該定着体の軸線
方向における配光分布の異なる第一発熱体及び第二発熱
体を備え、該第一発熱体が上記軸線方向の中央部に配光
ピークをもち、該第二発熱体が上記軸線方向端部側に配
光ピークをもち、制御手段が第一発熱体及び第二発熱体
を所定の点灯時間比で交互に点灯させるようになってい
る定着装置において、駆動手段は、定着待機時に、所定
時間毎に定着体及び加圧体を間欠的に回転又は停止さ
せ、制御手段は、定着待機時における定着体及び加圧体
の回転時に第一点灯時間比で第一発熱体及び第二発熱体
を点灯させ、定着待機時における定着体及び加圧体の停
止時に第二点灯時間比で第一発熱体及び第二発熱体を点
灯させるよう設定され、第一点灯時間比は、第一発熱体
の点灯時間が第二点灯時間比による第一発熱体の点灯時
間より長く、且つ、第二発熱体の点灯時間が第二点灯時
間比による第二発熱体の点灯時間より短く設定されてい
ることを特徴とする定着装置。

手段は、定着体内に配設され互いに該定着体の軸線方向
における配光分布の異なる第一発熱体及び第二発熱体を
備え、該第一発熱体が上記軸線方向の中央部に配光ピー
クをもち、該第二発熱体が上記軸線方向端部側に配光ピ
ークをもち、制御手段が第一発熱体及び第二発熱体を所
定の点灯時間比で交互に点灯させるようになっている定
着装置において、駆動手段は、定着待機時に、加圧体温
度検知手段によて検知された加圧体表面温度が所定温度
以下の際に定着体及び加圧体を回転させ、制御手段は、
定着待機時における定着体及び加圧体の回転時に第一点
灯時間比で第一発熱体及び第二発熱体を点灯させ、定着
待機時における定着体及び加圧体の停止時に第二点灯時
間比で第一発熱体及び第二発熱体を点灯させるよう設定
され、第一点灯時間比は、第一発熱体の点灯時間が第二
点灯時間比による第一発熱体の点灯時間より長く、且
つ、第二発熱体の点灯時間が第二点灯時間比による第二
発熱体の点灯時間より短く設定されていることを特徴と
する定着装置。
