Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.電気機械的アクチュエータであって、 加熱時に膨張し且つ流動するポリマー材料を含む、細長い通路(30)と、 該細長い通路(30)に沿って配置されたヒータエレメント(32)と、 該細長い通路と流体連面する複数のチャンバ(34)と、 伸長性部材(12)であって、該ポリマー材料が膨張し流動すると、共通の力 が、伸長性部材の各々に付与されて該伸長性部材を伸長させるように、該チャン バ(34)の各々に取り付けられた伸長性部材(12)と、 を含むアクチュエータ。 2.前記細長い通路が、少なくとも1つの線状部分(図7および図8)を含む、 請求項1に記載のアクチュエータ。 3.前記細長い通路が環状であり(図1、2、5、6、8)、且つ前記伸長性部 材が、 (a)該環状通路(図1、2)の中心軸に平行な方向と、 (b)半径方向(図6、8)と の、いずれかの方向に伸長する、請求項1に記載のアクチュエータ。 4.前記細長い通路を規定する前記伸長性部材およびボディ部材のうちの1つが 、選択的に接合する摩擦部材の間の摩擦接触を促すスラストベアリングと選択的 に係合し、該スラストベアリングおよび接合部材の少なくとも1つが、回転可能 なシャフトと連結されている、請求項3に記載のアクチュエータ。 5.前記ヒータエレメントが、 細長い通路に沿って延びる抵抗性エレメント(50)と、 該抵抗性エレメントを取り囲む電気絶縁体(52)と、 該電気絶縁体を取り囲む導電シース(54)とを含む、請求項1から4のいず れか1つに記載のアクチュエータ。 6.前記ヒータエレメントが、 前記細長い通路に沿って延びる、複数の抵抗ワイヤ(70)と、 該抵抗ワイヤを、内部に該細長い通路(30)が規定されているメタルハウジ ング(10)から絶縁するための絶縁体(60)と、 を含む、請求項1から4のいずれか1つに記載のアクチュエータ。 7.前記抵抗ワイヤのワインディングが、誘導的に電力源に結合されている、請 求項6に記載のアクチュエータ。 8.クラッチアセンブリであって、 請求項1から7のいずれか1つに記載の電気機械的アクチュエータと、 伸長性部材が伸長および退化するとき、摩擦係合関係と、間隔を置いた係合さ れない関係との間を、選択的に移動可能である、第1および第2のクラッチ部材 (18、22)とを含む、クラッチアセンブリ。 9.ブレーキアセンブリであって、 請求項1から7のいずれか1つに記載のアクチュエータと、 伸長性部材が伸長および退化するとき、摩擦係合関係と、間隔を置いた係合さ れない関係との間を、選択的に移動可能である、第1および第2のブレーキ部材 (18、22)と、 を含む、ブレーキアセンブリ。 10.電気化学的/機械的作動方法であって、 複数のチャンバ(34)の間を延びる細長い通路(30)内のポリマーを、該 ポリマーが流動し且つ膨張するまで加熱する工程を含み、該細長い通路内を流動 する該ポリマーが、チャンバ内の流動し且つ膨張された該ポリマーの間の圧力の 平衡を確立し、該ポリマーの膨張が、該各チャンバ内の伸長性部材(12)を、 共通の力で伸長させる、電気化学的/機械的作動方法。
