Sono note numerose tipologie di stendibiancheria. Un problema che alcuni stendibiancheria, già diffusi sul mercato, si sono proposti di superare à ̈ quello di consentire di stendere una grande quantità di biancheria in spazi ridotti. Tuttavia in alcuni ambienti molto ristretti, ad esempio ripostigli o piccoli balconi o bagni di servizio, a volte lo spazio à ̈ talmente piccolo da non permettere di posizionare uno stendibiancheria. Inoltre, spesso nelle abitazioni non ci sono spazi in cui sia possibile posizionare sia la lavatrice che lo stendibiancheria. Per questo motivo à ̈ necessario spostare la biancheria prelevata dalla lavatrice da un ambiente ad un altro, in cui à ̈ invece possibile aprire lo stendibiancheria. Questo comporta perdite di tempo ed inoltre potrebbe causare la caduta di gocce di acqua dalla biancheria bagnata lungo il tratto da percorrere per spostarsi da un ambiente all’altro.
