Grazie al suo particolare sistema di funzionamento l'attrezzo viene usato con una sola mano in posizione di presa sulla sua parte chiamata "tubo". La precisione del posizionamento che il trovato permette di attuare con grande comodità, consente, nel giardinaggio, di attuare una pratica di diserbo selettivo basato sull'uso di sostanze solamente caustiche invece che propriamente erbicide.
