Description
DESCRIZIONE dell’invenzione industriale dal titolo: DESCRIPTION of the industrial invention entitled:
“LOZIONE TRICOGENETICA IN SISTEMA BIFASICO “TRICHOGENETIC LOTION IN BIPHASIC SYSTEM
The present invention relates to hair lotions and in particular to a lotion comprising two immiscible liquid phases.
Two-phase or biphasic lotions are application systems for topical or transcutaneous action products that use two (or more) immiscible solvents, which, suitably mixed by manual or mechanical agitation, are applied to the skin for various cosmetic or therapeutic.
Common hair and scalp lotions generally consist of hydroalcoholic solutions, in which the percentage of alcohol can reach 50% by volume, including one or more active components. Since the components provided are not always soluble in water or alcohol, biphasic lotions have also been produced, which include an aqueous or hydroalcoholic phase and an oily phase consisting of natural oils, and possibly surfactants to promote emulsification. For topical application on the skin or hair, the two solutions, packaged separately or coexisting in a single container, must be shaken together to obtain a temporary emulsion-suspension to be rubbed where needed. While for application on free skin these biphasic lotions can find a valid use, their application on the hair has never been successful as a consequence of the creamy or milky nature which, remaining on the hair, would make them heavy, sticky and opaque due to the greasy residues. The possible presence of emulsifiers or surfactants would, on the other hand, be harmful because it would alter or damage the balance of the natural hydrolipidic film physiologically placed to protect the skin and in particular the scalp.
The present invention therefore aims to obviate the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing a biphasic lotion in a single package with self-separating components, which has not only aesthetic qualities but also functional advantages that allow to provide the hair follicles with active ingredients otherwise not usable for the hair.
A biphasic system has now been developed consisting of polar and non-polar solvents which, when applied to the hair, does not weigh it down and does not make it greasy, but rather conditions it, leaving it soft, shiny and above all free of residues that can compromise its beauty. The new biphasic lotion object of the invention in fact brings to the hair, in the state of solution, all the possible active substances whatever their solubility. These substances can therefore fully exert their effectiveness without the appearance of unwanted side effects due to the formulation.
The two constituent phases (polar and apolar) are dispersed into each other by agitation at the time of use and, once applied to the scalp and hair, are able to convey any polar or non-polar principle that may result. active and beneficial for the hair. After mixing, the unused part of the lotion starts to separate into the two immiscible phases in more or less long times, which thus appear again distinct.
When the biphasic lotion according to the present invention is rubbed on the scalp simply in the dispersed state (and not as a stable emulsion), it is naturally incorporated by the cutaneous sebum constituting the hydrolipidic film which possesses physiologically and delicately emulsifying properties, so that the active ingredients can come into contact with the skin more intimately and therefore act more effectively without compromising the skin compatibility of the preparation.
The mixture of lipophilic solvents evaporates in a short time, leaving the active ingredients in intimate contact with the skin and hair and therefore available without weighing down or greasing the hair which, on the contrary, will draw considerable functional and also aesthetic advantages.
In current hair lotions, both aqueous and hydroalcoholic, often the liposoluble active ingredients, i.e. essential oils, are not soluble or are not completely soluble, thus resulting at least partially removed during filtration and losing much of the tricotropic activity of the extracts. In the case of tricoactive plant extracts, in fact, the activity is often attributed to both water-soluble principles (ie soluble in polar solvents) and fat-soluble principles (soluble in non-polar solvents). This is the case, for example, of rosemary extracts where there is a water-soluble portion and a fat-soluble portion which is considered the most interesting for its activity on the hair.
Now, in the biphasic system according to the present invention, the water-soluble portion dissolves in the aqueous phase while all the fat-soluble portion dissolves in the apolar phase, thus preserving the properties of the various constituents which can therefore perform a synergistic action.
A non-limiting example of a two-phase formulation according to the invention will now be reported.

Although a particular embodiment of the present invention has been described, possible variations and / or additions may be made to it by those skilled in the art without thereby departing from its innovative concept. It will thus be possible, for example, to color the two phases in various ways in order to obtain a pleasant aesthetic effect.
