Abstract

Continuous gas phase process for the preparation of polymers and copolymers of CH2=CHR olefins having a wide distribution of molecular weights carried out in at least two fluidised bed or mechanically agitated gas phase reactors and operating under different reaction conditions, at least as regards the concentration of molecular weight regulators; the process is characterised in that the polymer is at least partly recycled between the various reactors and in that the polymer leaving the reactor operating with the highest ratio of molecular weight regulator to monomer is condensed continuously and removed with the gas for removal of the molecular weight regulator. <IMAGE>
