Abstract

Nozzle produces hydrodynamic or sonic vibrations in liquids and has an inlet for the liquid under pressure. It has >=2 outlet passages drilled out, arranged at a radial spacing around the nozzle axis. The longitudinal axes of these converge towards the nozzle axis, but do not cut it, passing near it it a distance in front of the nozzle face. They lie in two parallel planes on either side of the axis. The lateral spacing of the jet outlets from the axis should be 0.5-4 times the smallest dimension of the outlet passages, which can be circular or slot shaped. Used for cleaning objects by immersion in baths contg. jets which induce sonic vibrations. The design prevents formation of damaging cavitation in the nozzle heat.
