Abstract
Anticoagulant compsn. which can be administered as an aerosol consists of an aq. soln. of heparin (I) and >=1 agent (II) which increases the permeability of the tracheobronchial mucosa and the pulmonary alveoli. (II) can be a natural enzyme of the testicular polysaccharidases or heparinocyte degranulation types, or a synthetic mucolytic such as thiazam-4-carboxylic acid. (II) is 1-50% expressed as I.U. relative to the no. of I.U. of heparin, or is 1-50 wt. % relative to 250 mg (I) assaying 100 I.U./mg. Used for treating thromboembolic accidents, atherosclerosis, myocardial infarct, acute arterial thrombosis, embolism or phlebitis. Addition of (II) improves the effect of (I) and the duration of the effect.
