Abstract

The invention relates to a high voltage system, in particular in a motor vehicle, having a plurality of high voltage components (1-3) that in each case carry an electrical high voltage and having at least one insulation measuring device for measuring an insulation resistance between the high voltage crr-ponants (1-3) and earth, and at least having a monitoring unit (5) for monitoring the insulation resistance of the high voltage components (1-3). It is proposed that the insulation measuring device measures the insulation resistance routinely at short time intervals of less than 90 seconds, and that the monitoring unit (5) switches off the high voitace components (1-3) if the measured insulation resistance is below a predetermined minimum value.
