Abstract

Novel isobutyl 2,6-dimethyl-3-methoxycarbonyl-4-(2'-nitrophenyl)-1,4-dihydropyridine- 5-carboxylate of the formula <IMAGE> is prepared by reacting methyl 2'-nitrobenzylideneacetoacetate either with isobutyl beta -aminocrotonate or with isobutyl acetoacetate and ammonia. The novel compound can be used as a coronary therapeutic. [GB1516793A]
