Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a gantry-type (gantry-type) work apparatus having a work head (work head) movable in an extending direction of a frame, and to a work apparatus and a cover for the work apparatus, which can easily perform maintenance work of the work head.
In the present specification, the term "liquid material" refers to a liquid material having a wide viscosity range from a low-viscosity liquid such as a solvent or an aqueous solution to a viscous body such as grease (grease) or an adhesive, and includes a liquid material containing a filler or solid particles, and a fluid including a paste such as a silver paste or a solder paste.
In the present specification, "discharge" includes discharge of a type in which the liquid is brought into contact with the workpiece before being separated from the nozzle, and discharge of a type in which the liquid material is brought into contact with the workpiece after being separated from the nozzle.
Background
A working apparatus having a table on which a workpiece is placed and a frame (frame) having a working head (also referred to as a beam frame (beam) or a gantry frame) is generally called a gantry type working apparatus. A gantry type working apparatus for performing a desired work on a workpiece moving relative to a working head includes, for example, an apparatus for applying a sealant in manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel, a patterning apparatus for a solar cell panel, a defect inspection apparatus for a semiconductor device, and the like.
In such a device, the device main body tends to be large-sized with the large-sized work, and for example, the glass substrate for the liquid crystal display panel of the 8 th generation has a size of 2160mm × 2400mm, and the working device must have a table on which the substrate can be placed.
A gantry type liquid material coating apparatus having a gate structure is disclosed in, for example, patent document 1, in which a substrate holding mechanism for holding a substrate on which a slurry pattern is formed is held movably in only one direction, coating heads for coating a slurry are provided on the substrate, respectively, and the coating heads are movable in a direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the substrate, and 2 groups of coating head support mechanisms are provided, one of the coating head support mechanisms being fixed to a pedestal, and the other coating head support mechanism being movably provided in the moving direction of the substrate.
Further, patent document 2 discloses a device configured to apply a slurry pattern in a desired shape to a substrate mounted on a table, the device including: a frame movable in one direction and extending to a direction different from the one direction in a parallel plane to a paste pattern surface of a substrate to be coated and drawn; a plurality of coating heads which are arranged on the frame, are provided with linear motors which can move along the extending direction of the frame, and are provided with a slurry containing cylinder and a nozzle which is provided with a discharge port capable of discharging the slurry filled in the slurry containing cylinder; and a control device which can move the frame relative to the workbench in the range of the substrate relative to the workbench carrying the slurry discharge port, and simultaneously control the slurry discharged from the slurry discharge port of the plurality of coating heads while moving the plurality of coating heads relative to the frame; then, a slurry pattern having a desired shape is applied to the substrate by a plurality of application heads.

Disclosure of Invention
(problems to be solved by the invention)
In the case of the apparatus exemplified in patent document 1, since the working head moving the frame is usually positioned inside the pedestal in a gantry type apparatus in which the working head is mounted inside the frame, the operator must greatly stretch out to perform work when the working head is to be repaired. In particular, in a multi-head type apparatus having a plurality of work heads in a frame, there is a work head which cannot be repaired even if it reaches from the outside of a base, and it is necessary to mount the apparatus on the base to perform work at the time of repair.
However, since a table or the like on which a workpiece is placed is disposed on the pedestal, it is not preferable that a worker performs maintenance work near or above the table. In particular, in a device which is required to have high cleanliness, maintenance is not performed well near a table or the like, and in some cases, work is performed by covering the table or the like with a film (sheet) or the like.
Further, when the apparatus main body is disposed in the cover, there is a further problem. In the maintenance, an operator must insert the upper body into the cover to perform maintenance, which is disadvantageous in terms of workability, and also in terms of bringing in particles such as dust and dirt or dust generated from a human body in an apparatus which requires cleaning of the environment, and in terms of damage to a table or the like due to contact or dropping of tools or the like during maintenance.
Further, particles generated during maintenance may be accumulated in the outer cover, and the cleaning property may be deteriorated.
In view of the above problems, an object of the present invention is to provide a working device and a cover for a working device, which facilitate maintenance of a working head and which perform maintenance without impairing cleaning performance.
(means for solving the problems)
In order to improve the maintainability of the work head, one of the solutions is to mount the work head outside the frame. However, in the case of a device having a plurality of frame structures in which the working heads are attached to the outer sides of the frames, it is necessary to configure each frame to be movable, and in the work of one frame, it is necessary to control the operation of each frame without interfering with the work of the other frame.
Therefore, the present inventors have developed a novel structure having excellent maintainability even in a structure in which a frame is fixed or a structure in which all or a part of components constituting a work head is attached to the inside of the frame, the frame being extended to the outside of a base and the work head being located outside the base. Although it is possible to extend both ends of the frame to the outside of the base, it is preferable to extend only one side of the frame if it is considered that the maintenance work can be performed only at one location. Particularly, when the apparatus main body is disposed in the cover, it is preferable because the number of openings of the cover can be minimized.
Further, in the above structure, since the operator does not need to mount the frame on the pedestal, the height of the frame itself can be a position where the operator can easily perform the operation, and there is an advantageous effect that the degree of freedom in design is high. In consideration of workability, the work head may be configured to be movable up and down or detachable in the maintenance area.
In addition, even in the structure covered with the working device cover, when the working head is located in the maintenance area (hereinafter also referred to as "maintenance position"), maintenance of the working head can be easily performed by providing the opening door near the working head.
The working device of the present invention having the above features is configured as follows.
That is, according to the present invention, there is provided a working apparatus for performing a desired operation on a workpiece placed on a table by relatively moving the table provided on a base and a working head opposed to the table, the working apparatus comprising: a plurality of supports disposed on the pedestal; a frame supported on the support body and extending in a first direction; and a working head disposed on the frame and movable in a first direction; the frame is configured such that an end portion thereof extends to an outer side of an outer edge of the base, and the work head is movable to the outer side of the outer edge of the base.

Detailed Description
A working apparatus according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is a working apparatus for performing a desired operation on a workpiece placed on a table by relatively moving the table provided on a base and a plurality of working heads opposed to the table, the working apparatus including: a plurality of supports arranged on the pedestal; a plurality of frames supported on the support body and extending in a first direction; and a working head disposed on the frame and movable in a first direction; the frame is configured such that an end portion thereof extends to an outer side of an outer edge of the base, and the work head is movable to the outer side of the outer edge of the base.
The working heads are disposed so that all or a part of the constituent elements are disposed inside the frames, and the working heads of the adjacent frames are disposed so as to face each other, and are capable of being position-controlled by a drive source such as a linear motor or a rotary motor.
The working head is, for example, a discharge device for applying the liquid material discharged from the tip of the nozzle onto the workpiece by pressurizing the liquid material stored in a storage container with air pressure, a jet injection device for applying the liquid material onto the surface of the workpiece after separating the liquid material from the tip of the nozzle by rapidly stopping the movement of a plunger sliding in close contact with the inner wall surface of the storage container above the liquid material stored in the storage container, or an inspection device for inspecting at least one of the height, width, cross-sectional area, and defect of a drawn shape drawn in a dot or line shape on the surface of the workpiece. A plurality of the same type of devices may be provided, or different types of devices may be provided in combination.
The support is provided to be movable in a second direction different from the first direction, and 1 or more frames are movable in the second direction.
When the working device is required to have high cleanliness, it is preferable to cover the working device with the outer cover. Even with the structure covered with the outer cover, the maintenance work can be performed more easily by providing the opening door near the end of the frame extending to the outside of the outer edge of the pedestal.
In the type of working device in which the frame is not movable, an opening door that can be accessed by an operator may be provided inside the outer cover to ensure the workability.
The device of the preferred embodiment of the present invention having the above configuration is used for applying a sealing material for preventing leakage of liquid crystal in, for example, a liquid crystal panel manufacturing process. In the so-called plate bonding method in which a plurality of panels are formed from a glass substrate, a plurality of panels, for example, 4 (2 × 2), 9 (3 × 3), 20 (4 × 5), etc., can be formed from 1 glass substrate, but here, a rectangular pattern is drawn with a sealing material per panel unit. For example, when 4 × 5 panels are produced from 1 glass substrate, 5 coating heads are arranged, 5 patterns in the 1 st line are simultaneously drawn by the 5 coating heads, and after the coating in the 1 st line is completed, the coating heads are moved to the coating positions in the 2 nd and subsequent lines, and 5 patterns are simultaneously drawn by the 5 coating heads in the same manner.
However, the technical idea of the present invention is not limited to the above-described coating apparatus, and any working apparatus of a so-called gantry type can be applied.
The present invention will be described in detail with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited to these examples.
Example 1
(construction)
As shown in fig. 1 to 4, the liquid material coating apparatus of the present embodiment includes: a pedestal 1 having a table 12 on which a workpiece can be placed; a pair of supports 2 fixed to the pedestal 1; and a fixing frame 3 supported on the support 2 so as to cross the short side direction (X direction) of the pedestal 1.
A fixed unit 4 is disposed on a side surface of the fixed frame 3, and a plurality of work heads 6 are movably attached to the fixed unit 4 in the X direction by a movable unit 5. The work head 6 is configured to be movable in the Z direction by a known drive mechanism not shown.
The table 12 is configured to be movable in the X direction by the X guide rail 11. The table 12 is provided movably in the Y direction by a Y slider 9 and a Y guide 8 disposed below the X guide 11. The table 12 may be provided with a θ rotation mechanism for moving the workpiece in the θ axis direction and positioning the workpiece at a predetermined angle.
The X-direction and Y-direction guides are exemplified to have a structure including a magnet for a linear motor and a linear guide, but the X-direction and Y-direction guides are not limited to this structure, and for example, a motor and a ball screw rotating in conjunction with the motor may be provided on a carriage, or a nut moving linearly in conjunction with the rotation of the ball screw may be provided on a slider.
As shown in fig. 5 and 6, the liquid material application apparatus of the present embodiment is disposed inside a substantially L-shaped outer cover 30.
The outer cover 30 is a closed space for preventing dust, dirt, and the like from adhering to the workpiece, and has an opening 33 on the back side thereof, through which the workpiece can be carried in and out, an opening 34 for maintenance of the apparatus main body, and the doors 31a and 31b, and the door 32 for maintenance of the work head 6, on the front side thereof. An operation panel 38 for operating a main control unit, not shown, is provided on a front panel of the outer cover 30. Of the panels constituting the outer cover 30, a panel provided with a pair of handles is used for opening and closing.
The substantially L-shaped outer cover 30 is configured such that a portion of the frame 3 extending from the base 1 is positioned opposite to the door 32. The portion of the frame 3 extending from the base 1 can constitute a maintenance position of the work head 6 at the time of maintenance of the work head 6. That is, at the time of maintenance of the working head 6, as shown in fig. 3 and 4, the working head 6 is positioned at a portion of the fixed frame 3 extending from the base 1, and the outer cover 30 is configured such that the working head 6 and the door 32 face each other.
The number of the working heads 6 mounted on one frame 3 may be increased or decreased as appropriate, but all the working heads 6 may be configured to be movable to the outside of the outer edge of the base 1.
In fig. 4 and 5, the inner wall 50 that divides the working area 40 and the maintenance area 60 is shown by a one-dot chain line. The inner wall 50 is provided with a work head passage opening 51 through which the work head 6 can reciprocate. Although the inner wall 50 and the work head passage opening 51 are not limited to the embodiment of the present invention, at least they are provided so as not to hinder the movement of the work head 6 in the work area 40 and the maintenance area 60. In this inner wall 50, the portion of the frame 3 extending from the base 1 and the base 1 are partitioned to minimize the entry of particles such as dust generated in the maintenance area 60 into the working area 40, thereby eliminating the problem of quality deterioration and improving the yield.
In the present embodiment, a fan mechanism is provided in the work area 40, and clean air is constantly flowed from the upper portion toward the lower portion. Accordingly, since the undesired substances such as dust can be discharged to the outside from the lower portion of the outer lid 30, the undesired substances and the like do not remain in the outer lid 30, and the coating work can be performed constantly in a clean environment. In this case, the outside air may be introduced into the working area by using an air cleaner or a filter such as HEPA (high efficiency particulate air filter).
When the working area 40 is made to have a positive pressure with respect to the maintenance area 60, an air flow toward the maintenance area 60 can be formed from the working area 40. This airflow has a function of preventing particles generated in the maintenance area 60 from entering the working area 40.
Further, as a preferable embodiment of the cover 30, for example, a cover is formed of a metal frame formed of SUS, an aluminum frame, or the like, and a wall surface made of metal, a permeable resin, or the like. The wall surface made of resin has various colors such as transparent (colorless and transparent), yellow, dark brown, red, dark gray, and gray (gray), but the most suitable color can be selected and used according to the application in which the liquid material is used (for example, ultraviolet rays are not preferred). In fig. 6, the hatched portion is transparent.
A communication jack, not shown, is provided at the lower portion of the cover 30, and the device can be remotely controlled by connecting to an external terminal such as a PC through a network cable. Although the operation can be performed by the operation panel 38, the remote control operation is effective because it is difficult to operate the operation panel 38 in performing maintenance work by opening the front or side panel. The remote control may be performed by connecting a portable dedicated terminal to a network, or may be performed by mounting a communication device such as a wireless LAN.
(action)
The workpiece is carried in from the opening 33 on the back surface by an automatic conveyor such as a robot, and the workpiece is placed on the table 12. At this time, the work head 6 moves to the retracted position (the same position as the maintenance position) shown in fig. 3 and 4, and the work is not prevented from being carried in.
When the workpiece is completely placed on the table 12, the main control unit, not shown, moves the X-direction slide 11 and the Y-direction slide 8 to move the table, moves the movable unit 5 to dispose the work head 6 at a desired position so as to face the workpiece, and lowers the work head 6 by a Z-direction moving mechanism included in the work head 6 to apply the liquid material to the workpiece. At this time, the workpiece and the work head 6 are relatively moved by the X-direction slide 11 and the Y-direction slide 8, and a desired shape can be drawn.
After the coating operation is completed, the working head 6 is moved to the retracted position again so as not to hinder the carrying-out of the workpiece. When the work head 6 has moved, the automatic conveyor carries out the workpiece from the opening 33.
The maintenance work is performed on the working head 6 by moving the working head 6 to the maintenance position and opening the door 32 of the outer cover 30. As shown in fig. 3 and 4, in the maintenance position, the working head 6 is close to the end of the fixed frame 3, and the working head 6 is located in a range easily accessible from the opening portion formed by the door 32, so that maintenance work such as exchange of consumables can be easily performed.
The position and number of the maintenance door leaves can be changed as appropriate. For example, in the case of a structure in which the working head 6 is movably attached to the rear surface side of the fixed frame 3, a door facing the door 32 is provided on the rear surface side of the outer cover 30.
Example 2
(construction)
As shown in fig. 7 to 9, the liquid material application apparatus of the present embodiment includes: a fixing frame 3 extending in the short side direction (X direction) of the pedestal 1; and a movable frame 21 that also spans the X direction of the pedestal 1.
The fixing frame 3 is supported by a pair of supporting bodies 2 fixed to the base 1, as in example 1. The movable frame 21 is supported by a pair of movable supports 23 disposed on a frame slider 22, and is configured to be movable in the Y direction. The fixed frame 3 may be configured to be movable.
The fixed frame 3 and the movable frame 21 are provided with fixed units 4 provided on the inner side surfaces of the respective frames, and the plurality of work heads 6 are movably attached to the fixed units 4 in the X direction by movable units 5. The working head 6 has the same configuration as in example 1, and is movable in the Z direction.
The table 12 is configured to be movable in the Y direction by the Y guide 8, and the work head 6 and the table 12 can be moved relatively.
The inner wall 50 is provided so as not to hinder at least the movement of the working head 6 of the fixed frame 3 and the working head 6 of the movable frame 21 in the working area 40 and the maintenance area 60. Here, the time zone in which the working head 6 moves from the working area 40 to the maintenance area 60 is a time zone in which the movable frame 21 is located at the standby position at the time of maintenance. Therefore, in a time zone in which the movable frame 21 is not located at the standby position at the time of maintenance, it is preferable from the viewpoint of preventing intrusion of particles or the like when the spatial connection between the working area 40 and the maintenance area 60 is minimized. For example, as shown in fig. 12, it is disclosed that a space through which the work head 6 passes is provided only at a position corresponding to the position of the work head 6 at the standby position at the time of maintenance. The technical idea of the present invention also includes a mode in which the shape of the work head passage opening 51 dynamically changes.
As shown in fig. 10 and 11, the liquid material application device of the present embodiment is disposed inside the square outer lid 30 (and the inner wall 50 is not shown).
The outer cover 30 has an opening 33 in the back surface thereof, through which a workpiece can be carried in or out, and an opening 35 and doors 33a and 33b constituting the opening 35 in the front surface thereof. Further, as in the embodiment, an emergency stop button 37 and an operation panel 38, not shown, for operating a main control unit are provided, and among the panels constituting the outer cover 30, a panel having a pair of handles attached thereto is used for opening and closing.
The cover 30 of the present embodiment is provided with vertically long rectangular door leaves 33a and 33b extending under the feet on the front surface, and the door leaves are arranged to be opened in the left-right direction, so that the operator can enter the interior. The fixed frame 3 and the movable frame 21 are configured such that portions extending from the base 1 are positioned in the vicinity of the doors 33a and 33 b. The portions of the frames extending from the base 1 extend from the work head passage openings 51 formed in the inner wall 50 toward the door 33a and 33b, and maintenance can be performed without removing the inner wall 50.
(action)
The workpiece is carried in from the opening 33 on the back surface by an automatic conveyor such as a robot, and the workpiece is placed on the table 12. At this time, as shown in fig. 9, the movable frame 21 moves to the vicinity of the outer edge of the base 1, and the work head 6 moves to the retracted position (the same position as the maintenance position), so that the work is not hindered from being carried in.
When the workpiece is completely placed on the table 12, a main control unit, not shown, moves the carriage slide 22, the movable block 5, and the Y-direction slide 8, positions the working head 6 at a desired position facing the workpiece, and lowers the working head 6 by a Z-direction moving mechanism included in the working head 6, thereby applying the liquid material to the workpiece. At this time, the workpiece and the working head 6 are relatively moved by the movable unit 5 and the Y-direction slide 8, and a desired shape can be drawn.
After the coating operation is completed, the movable frame 21 and the work head 6 are moved to the retracted position again so as not to hinder the workpiece from being carried out. After the movable frame 21 and the work head 6 have moved, the automatic conveyor carries out the workpiece through the opening 33.
When the maintenance work is performed on the work head 6, the work head 6 is moved to the maintenance position, and the doors 33a and 33b of the outer cover 30 are opened. As shown in fig. 9, in the maintenance position, the working head 6 is close to the end portions of the fixed frame 3 and the movable frame 21, and the working head 6 is located in a range easily accessible from the opening 35 formed by the doors 33a and 33b, so that maintenance work such as exchange of consumables can be easily performed.
In the present embodiment, the position and the number of the doors for maintenance can be changed as appropriate. For example, when the movable working head 6 is attached to the rear surface side of the fixed frame 3 and/or the movable frame 21, a door for maintenance may be provided on the side surface of the outer cover 30 (i.e., the surface adjacent to the surface on which the doors 33a and 33b are provided). In this structure, when the maintenance door is provided closer to the doors 33a and 33b than the base 1, the working positions at the time of maintenance can be concentrated, which is preferable.
