Abstract
The invention relates to a device for regenerating air, especially in buildings. The invention provides that for the purposes of sterilization and neutralization of the odours of odour-bearing particles, gases, vapours, bacteria, germs or similar and for fragrancing the air, a housing (1) is provided, comprising a first volume unit a) with a number of openings (2, 3) for incoming and outgoing air, a motor-driven fan wheel (6) which is located between these openings, for producing a through flow (3'), an ionisation and ozonization assembly (7) which is allocated to the through flow and which functions according to the principle of dielectrically restricted discharge, an incoming air filter (4) and a sorption catalyst unit (8) as an outgoing air filter for the fan air; and a second volume unit b) comprising a fan (9, 10) for producing an independent air flow which passes through a container (13) for holding clathrates and fragrant substances via incoming (11) and outgoing air openings (12).
Description
The invention relates to a device for the regeneration of indoor air, particularly in buildings.
The use of particulate filters made of different materials, such as textiles, paper and nonwovens or the like, is known for purifying the ambient air of dust and other contaminants, while the use of ionic and proprietary components, such as those used for the destruction of harmful gaseous and vapour-forming air constituents and bacteria, moulds and the like, is known for the use of glass tubes operating with dielectrically inhibited discharges.
US 5 904 896 in the air stream, with an ozone generator located between the second filter and the adsorbent. Such a system enables the air which has been cleared of contaminants to be enriched by injected, scent masking or neutralising substances or fragrances.
FR 25 10 891 describes a method and device for purifying air by ozone. To prevent unwanted or harmful ozone contamination which may be present in the purified air, a perfume is alternately emitted with the ozonation of the air, simultaneously or independently of it.
The purpose of the invention is to create a device which, on the one hand, has a germinating and odor-reducing effect on odor-bearing particles, gases or vapors, bacteria, germs or the like and, on the other hand, allows the air to be functionally scented.
According to the invention, this task is solved by a device with a reception housing with a first room unit (a) with a large number of openings for inlet and outlet air, a motor-driven blower to generate a flow rate, an ionization and ozonation assembly assigned to the flow rate, operating on the principle of dielectrically inhibited discharge, a sulphur air filter and a sorption catalyst unit as an exhaust air filter for the exhaust air and a subsequent second room unit (b) with a blower to generate an independent air flow, which uses sulphur air and exhaust air reservoirs for the absorption of sulphur and a substrate flow.
The device is a portable mobile unit in which oxidation inactivates the airborne pollutants in an air regeneration process by means of the ionization and ozonation unit, while the clathrate and fragrances have the effect of removing odors or evoking positive emotions in the user. It is understood that the ionization and ozonation unit can be controlled with regard to different levels of pollutants in the room air to produce ions and ozone at different levels with different high voltages, preferably generated by high frequency generators, and that ventilation by any substances with different air intakes and composition may be carried out at different rates and/or at different frequencies.
The first (a) and second (b) compartments are to be housed in a single-unit housing according to the preferred design of the device; it is also possible to form the two compartments (a) and (b) in composite independent housing parts, functionally joined together by means of a screw, plug and/or clamp or adhesive connection to form a single housing unit.
The further design of the apparatus provides for the ionization and ozonation assembly to be equipped, for example, with a flat-bottom module which, under varying initial loads, will favourably adjust the production of ions and ozone to the quality of the fuel air supplied, in order to ensure the safe destruction of gases, vapours and other pollutants and to avoid excess ozone to a large extent.
Finally, the device provides for the design of the gas air filter as a particulate filter and for its creation as desired, e.g. by textile fabric, meat or similar, while the sorption catalyst can be designed as an activated carbon filter or any other suitable catalyst which destroys excess ozone and prevents the release of ozone into the ambient air.

The second room unit (b) contains a fan wing 10 rotated by an electric motor 9 which generates air flow through air vents 11 and 12 and a container 13 containing clathrates and fragrances which are permeated by the air flow. The fragrances can be used as deodorants, perfumes, disinfectants or the like.
The device has been used to neutralize air by removing harmful particles and oxidatively destroying gaseous and vapour pollutants by ionization and ozonation, and by means of the sorption catalyst 8 to neutralize any excess ozone, while the device in the second room (b) is used to evaporate.
