Abstract
993,885. Making electric circuits. ELECTROLUX A.B. March 12, 1962 [March 30, 1961], No. 9395/62. Heading B3A. [Also in Divisions H1 and H2] A method of making electric circuits comprises stamping, punching or the like a metal plate to form depressions on one side of the plate and elevations on the other, and removing the elevations to form spaces whereby the remaining sections of the plates form the conductors of the circuit. An electrically conductive metal plate 20, of, e.g. copper, is stamped to produce depressions 22 of a depth greater than the thickness of the plate, corresponding elevations 21 and holes 25. Alternatively the plate is stamped so that the elevated portions are attached to it by thin connecting portions. The stamped plate is fastened by casting or adhesive to an electrically insulated base 26, of e.g. plastic or oxidized aluminium plate, or to a conductive base in which case the plate is given an insulating surface prior to fastening. Prior to assembly the depressions 22 are filled with powdered talc or chalk to prevent them from being filled with jointing material. After fastening the elevations 21 are removed by turning, face-milling, grinding or by tearing off along the thinned portions and the talc or chalk removed from the gap thus formed by brushing. In a modification tabs (not shown) are stamped out of the plate and cast or bent about the base 26. A rotor, Fig. 12, comprises two circular stamped discs which are attached back to back with an insulating layer therebetween, e.g. a base 26, by rivets 32 and machined to form conductors 24 and spaces 27. The plates may be stiffened by embossing or stamping prior to or after assembly.
