Abstract

A composite substance and an artificial surface for sporting and recreational use formed therefrom, the composite substance comprises grass seed 10, sand 20 and pieces of material 30. The grass seeds grow to form grass 40 on top of the sand/material mix, with grass roots 50 pushing down through the mix. The resulting surface is particularly well adapted for equestrian use.
