Abstract

997,884. Endless conveyers. R. G. SHIMEILD, and J. K. SHIMEILD. March 12, 1964 [May 7, 1963], No. 17979/63. Heading B8A. Bottle disposal means, e.g. for use in a bar, comprises an endless conveyer chain 1, Fig. 2, carrying a plurality of platforms 4, a shoot 12 through which the bottles are passed to the conveyer, the shoot having a spring-loaded pivoted flap 13 to allow a bottle to pass only when a platform 4 is in bottle receiving position, and cams 7, 8, Fig. 3, for transferring the bottles from the descending platforms on to a tray 17 without tilting or tipping the bottles. The flap 13 is biased against a stop 15 so that if a bottle enters the shoot 12 when a platform 4 is not in position to receive it the platform bears on the bottle and moves the flap away from the stop 15. The bottle rests upon the stop 15 until the platform moves out of engagement with the bottle which is then pushed by the return movement of the flap 13 on to the platform. The cams 7, 8 rotate with a lower chain sprocket 3 and are adapted upon each complete revolution to push a bottle off the conveyer. The conveyer chain 1 is tensioned by a spring-mounted sprocket, Fig. 1 (not shown).
