Abstract
984,072. Combustion chamber linings. AMERICAN RADIATOR & STANDARD SANITARY CORPORATION. Sept. 16, 1963 [Sept. 24, 1962], No. 36357/63. Drawings to Specification. Headings F4B and F4W. The outer surface of a combustion chamber liner of fibrous refractory material is coated with a mixture containing aluminium dihydrogen phosphate. Orthophosphone acid may be applied to the outer surface of the liner and hydrated alumina applied separately to form the coating. In another embodiment, a mixture of 39-60% of aluminium dihydrogen phosphate, 39-60% of a filler such as alumina, zircon or mixtures of them, and 1-5% of a plasticizer such as bentonite, or kaolin, alone or mixed, is applied to the liner to form a coating between 0À001-0À03 inch thick. The coating prevents the buckling of the liner in use.
