Abstract

979, 981. Paper-making machine baffles. DOMINION ENGINEERING WORKS Ltd. April 5, 1962 [April 24, 1961], No. 13224/62. Heading D2A. A baffle or scraper to bear on the underside of a Fourdrinier wire is formed of a light-weight construction having thin walls filled with a solidified plastic material. The walls 17 are preferably of steel and, after welding, the space within them is filled with polyurethane foam or like material. A replaceable wear strip 19 is provided and arrangements are made for vertical, horizontal and angular adjustments relative the machine frame.
