Abstract

976,633. Cleaning venetian - blind slats. T. A. GOW-SMITH. March 16, 1962, No. 14538/61. Heading F2N. In a method of washing venetian-blind slats, a slat is passed through the nip of a pair of interengaging cylindrical brushes 11, 12 in the presence of a detergent solution, the slat thereafter being rinsed and dried. As shown, the slat is passed through the apparatus by means of rollers and is cleaned by the brushes 11, 12, e.g. having crimped nylon bristles which rotate in opposite directions. The slat is rinsed by a sparger 20 and dried by a fan/heater 23. The brushes and rollers are driven by an electric motor via a continuous chain.
