Abstract

975,079. Timing ignition. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. May 20, 1963 [May 25, 1962], No. 19889/63. Heading F1B. [Also in Division H2] In an ignition timing device having a centrifugal governor for adjusting the timing as a function of engine speed, the contact breaker plate 11 is swivellable by means of a linkage which includes a pin and slot arrangement 21, 20 whereby between the idling position and a predetermined partially open position of the throttle 25 movement of the throttle does not cause the contact breaker plate to be swivelled but movement of the throttle between the partially open position and the fully open position causes the contact breaker plate to be swivelled in such a manner that the ignition timing is retarded as the throttle opening is increased. In a modification the slot is formed in a plate which is mounted on the throttle valve spindle of the carburetter.
