Abstract

974,120. Sink and float separators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 25, 1963 [Oct. 31, 1962], No. 41250/62. Heading B2H. The sink fraction from a sink and float separator is extracted from the bottom of the separating tank by means of a vibratory conveyer. The conveyer comprises a trough 12 suspended on springs 16 within a frame 13. Rubber pads are compressed between the sides of the trough and the frame and a pair of motors 14 vibrate the frame and trough. The conveyer is suspended in the separating medium on ties 11 and its lower end underlies the bottom of the separating trough 2 to pick up and extract the descending sink fraction. Specification 970,741 is referred to.
