Abstract
966,553. Tractor power lift mechanisms. STEYR-DAIMLER-PUCH A.G. Jan. 23, 1961 [Jan. 23, 1960], No. 2544/61. Heading A1P. A tractor power lift linkage system is controlled in response to ground level fluctuations from a trailing feeler member and in response to an increase in the tractive force required to pull the implement. The hydraulic system comprises a reservoir 2, and a pump 1 supplying a ram 4 under the control of lift device 3, the ram acting on a lift arm 5 connected by a link 6 to a lower link 7 of a three point linkage, the upper link of which is not shown. A feeler roller 9 is carried by an arm 8 pivoted to the tractor and having an angled part 10 connected by a link 11 to a lever 12 which is connected to a lever 13 pivoted at 14 to a link 17 connected via links 16 and 15 to an arm 18 of the lift arm 5. Rise or fall of the roller 9 actuates the device 3 in the appropriate direction through levers 12 and 13. The links 15, 16 and 17 provide a follow up mechanism to re-set the device 3 at the appropriate implement depth. The lever 13 is also connected to a rod 20 through which the lever is actuated in response to increases in the tractive effort required to pull the implement, the connection being a resilient one and operating only when a predetermined effort is required. A manual adjustment of the working depth may be obtained by the hand lever 21 and independent operation of the lift apparatus may be obtained by the hand lever 19. The arm 8 may be connected to the tractor by a shock absorber 22.
