Abstract

966,176. Windscreen cleaners. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. July 9, 1963 [July 21, 1962], No. 27074/63. Heading A4F. In a windscreen wiper and washer in which a nozzle 10 is mounted in an annular body 21, rotatable about the wiper spindle 4, to follow the path of an oscillatory wiper blade 9, to spray fluid in front of it, the nut 11, securing the spindle bearing bush 3 to the vehicle body 1 contains conduits for the washing fluid. Fluid travels up passage 15 in a sealing ring 12, to an annular groove 16, formed between nut 11 and ring 12, then through bores 17, 18 and groove 19 of the threaded nut 11, and out of the nozzle 10 on an annular body 21 which is rotatably attached by projections to the threaded nut 11. The body 21 also frictionally engages with the spindle 4, and so oscillates with the wiper arm 6 until stop lug 27 (Fig. 3) engages with shoulders 29 (Fig. 5) of sealing ring 12 towards the end of each oscillation of the shaft 4 so that the spray may always be directed in front of the blade 9.
