Abstract
931,636. Photographic emulsions. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. Sept. 25, 1961 [Oct. 11, I960], No. 34281/61. Class 98(2). A light-developable water-permeable colloidsilver halide emulsion contains from 0.5 to 120 mol. per cent of a stannous salt, based on the silver halide, and an excess of bromine ions over the amount equivalent to the silver. The exposed material may be developed by heating to at least 93 C. and giving an overall exposure to radiation of wavelength 350-700 millimicrons for at least 0.2 seconds. The stannous salt may be the chloride and it is preferably added as a solution in glycerol or sorbitol, but ethanol, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether or water may be used. Specification 877,841 is referred to.
