Abstract

<PICT:0937569/III/1> A self-supporting fluidized bed grate of planar top-face and concave bottom made of a plurality of concentric rings of refractory material has inlet passages for gas which taper from a maximum to a minimum cross-sectional area in a ratio of at least 1,5 to 1 enabling an equal linear velocity and volumetric flow over a wide area of the bed. A number of brick constructions for the dome are illustrated.
