A fibre board carton includes a pouring spout 20 formed in two adjoining walls 18, 19 of the carton, the pouring spout comprising a triangular panel 21 lying in wall 19 and hingedly connected along one boundary 22 to that wall, the boundary 22 extending from and being inclined to the edge 25 of the carton, along a second boundary 23 being severed from the wall 19 by a series of slits 28, and a flap 26 of triangular outline extends from the third boundary 24 of the panel, the boundary 24 coinciding with the edge 25 of the carton and the flap 26 lying in the plane of the wall 18. When the blank is folded into a carton the glue flap 10 is secured to the opposite edge of the blank with a stripe of adhesive 12. The extension 14 of the glue flap 10 is secured to the back panel 6 by a stripe of adhesive 15, and the glue tab 16 is bent over to prevent the carton contents from filtering down between the stripes 12 and 15. The flap 26 is severed from the extension 14 by a line of cutting which is interrupted at 40 to leave a point of attachment between the projection 27 and the extension 14. A tab 33 above the panel 21 is defined by a slit 30, a bend 31 and slits 28, and when the carton is erected, the tab 33 is overlaid by a glue flap 35 provided with a cut 36 and a bend 38 which are offset from the cut 30 and the bend 31. The carton may be provided with an inner bag which is secured to the inner surface over at least the area constituting the pouring spout.
