A buckle comprises a sheet-metal frame pivotally mounting a prong 4 on a bar 3, the point of the prong rests in a slot 7 in an end bar 2<1> formed by folding under an end strip of sheetmetal. The central bar also mounts a pivoting- plate 5 with holes for riveting the buckle to a shoe or the like. The end bar 2 has a roller sleeve or comprises a strip bent upon itself. The buckle may be punched from sheet-metal.
