Abstract

903,341. Valves. HOPKINSONS Ltd. Oct. 27, 1960 [Nov. 24, 1959], No. 39791/59. Class 135. A valve has discs 6, 7 which are forced apart by spring means 8 on to annular seats 9, 10 in the closed position and withdrawn when the valve is open into a space provided with guides 13, 14 integral with the seats so that the discs are supported at all times and have no tendency to tilt. The guides 13, 14 have a smaller diameter than the seats and engage annular facings on the discs which are mounted in a ring 4 and an eye 5 on a spindle 3.
