In an adjustable louvre window or shutter assembly of the type which consists of a jamb member 1 to which a number of louvre clips 2 are pivotally connected, the cross-section of the jamb is H-shaped and the flanges facing the clips 2 are cut away at alternate sections along each side of the jamb to form shallow flanges 5, the portions 3 which are left upstanding forming weather strips which co-operate with the clips 2 when the latter are in the closed position. Each louvre clip 2 consists of a channel-shaped member having an integral pivot pin adapted to seat in a recess in the upper portion of a boss 9, one side 14 of the channel being extended at 13 and having a spigot 17. The other end of each clip is provided with an extension 15 and a recess 18 to accommodate the extension 13, and the louvre blade 19 is held in place by a phosphor bronze strip 20 having a portion 20a bent over the end of the blade. Alternatively the strip 20 may be replaced by an elastic liner. The jamb is secured to the surrounding window frame by means of screws 21 having washers 22 which register with the louvre clip extensions 13 and 15 in the closed position. Drainage passages are provided on each side of the pivots and screws within each of their respective mountings so that water may drain down the whole length of the jamb 1. The louvre clips are interconnected for simultaneous adjustment by a link 27 to which the clips are joined by brackets 26. An operating handle 28 is pivotally connected, at 29, to an extension 30 of the jamb member and to a link 31 pivotally connected to one bracket 26.
