[Also in Group XXV] A bolt 9, Fig. 16, has a point 3 to one end and otherwise is shaped to be circumscribed over its entire length by a constant diameter cylinder or is made up of a non-threaded part circumscribed by said cylinder and a threaded part remote from the point with a pitch diameter equal to that of the cylinder diameter. The bolt is positioned in a barrel 7 which provides a guide for the bolt over its entire length, the forward end of the barrel is applied against the body M and the bolt is propelled point first into the body leaving a portion protruding. The bolt may have a cross-section as shown in any of Figs. 20 . . . 22.
