Abstract

900,075. Treating ores. AMERICAN BRAKE SHOE CO. Dec. 29, 1960 [Feb. 24, 1960], No. 44615/60. Class 82 (1). [Also in Group XII] A pallet for conveying ore under a sinter hood comprises a base 11 supporting hearth bars 16 and secured to side members 13 carrying sealing bars and supports for the wheels 19. An. intermediate side plate 35, Fig. 6, formed with at least one groove in its inner face, is bolted to the side member, and a side plate 30, Fig. 3, having grooves and ridges arranged to give the plate a sinusoidal cross-section of uniform thickness is secured to the intermediate side plate. The side plate may have slots 70, Fig. 4, extending over part of its depth to allow for thermal expansion. In a modification, Figs. 9 and 10, each side plate 101 comprises a number of sections 102, each bolted to a side member and retained in place by a rod passing through eyes 105 formed at each side of each section. The side plate sections are corrugated on the inner face only.
