Abstract

908,845. Fork lift trucks. TOOTILL PTY. Ltd., LAWRENCE. , Oct. 11, 1960, No. 34729/60. Class 78 (3). Gripping pads 29b are extended from the sides of the tines 25b of a brick-carrying fork by hydraulic rams 32, 34, and are retracted by springs 40, the rams and springs being coupled to the pads through spherical seatings 35, 37 which render the pads self aligning. The tines are of cast construction and are provided with bores which form housings for the springs and rams, and hydraulic feed conduits. The fork comprises a back plate 1 adapted to be secured to the lifting carriage of a fork lift truck, a frame 12 arranged to be pivoted about an axle 5 on plate 1 by an hydraulic ram 9, and a tined frame 19 which is laterally slidable along rails 17 on frame 12 by an hydraulic ram 21.
