Abstract

907,203. Endless conveyers. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI GEB. July 29, 1959, No. 25959/59. Class 78 (1). In an endless belt or articulated-plate conveyer, e.g. comprising plates 3 attached to a chain 2 and provided with rollers 6, wherein the band is driven by an end pulley 7 and by one or more intermediate drives each consisting of a driving chain provided with dogs to engage the chain 2, the band is supported by engagement of the rollers 6 with upper and lower tracks 4 and 5, of which the lower track 5 is interrupted in advance of the or each intermediate drive to allow sagging of the band. The end portions 8 of the tracks 5 at the interruption are inclined and have downwardly bent ends. A tensioning pulley 12 is engaged with the chain 2 in the gap so formed, the pulley 12 being vertically slidable' to an extent limited in the downward direction by a nut 15 and being urged downwardly by a spring 16.
