Abstract
905,217. Colour photographic material and separation record production therefrom. FRAUNHOFER, H. VON, and FRAUNHOFER, J. A. VON. Oct. 24, 1960 [Oct. 23, 1959], No. 35958/59. Class 98 (2). A base provided with an anti-halo layer is superimposed with, in order, a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a soft gelatine magenta dye layer, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a soft gelatine layer of low melting-point, a yellow filter layer and then a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer. Variations include combining the yellow filter and its adjacent soft gelatine layer, and the provision of an ultra-violet filter layer above such. Procedure therewith involves exposure and normal processing including fixing, treatment of the top layer with a viscous bleach to convert the silver image therein to a silver salt, contacting with a take-off material in the presence of hypo to form a silver sulphide image by reaction as with cadmium, uranium or titanium sulphide provided therein and so produce the blue separation negative, passage of the multi-layer material through warm water to melt the upper soft gelatine layer and remove layers above this; repetition to produce the green separation negative, and leave the red negative on the original base. Separation positives may be made similarly using a reversal technique. An example is directed to camera exposure of the material, describes a loaded ferrocyanide surface acting bleach, and the use of warm urea solutions for the steps of melting the soft gelatine layers.
