Abstract

904,079. Portable containers. PLASTIC PACKAGING Ltd. Oct. 20, 1959, No. 35470/59. Class 66. A thin-walled tubular container comprises a circumferential wall of tubular form 1 and generally rectangular cross-section, at least two opposite sides being formed over the greater part of their lengths with a substantially continuous series of transversely extending corrugations while at least one of the remaining sides is provided with an area 4 which is uncorrugated. In the form shown, the container is tapered and the corrugations 3 extend around all four sides, the blank areas 4 being arranged an opposite sides. The uppermost corrugations 6 extend completely around all four sides. The upper end of the container is provided with an uncorrugated area 7 with an outwardly extending flange or lip 8 at its upper end to receive the edge portion of a lid or closure. The lower end portion of the circumferential wall is uncorrugated and formed so as to provide two ribs 10 and 11 which prevent containers wedging together when they are nested.
