890,803. Aerating lawns. FITZGERALD, W. M. Nov. 3, 1959 [Nov. 6, 1958], No. 35672/58. Class 6(1). A machine for aerating lawns comprises a head 4 provided with a number of drills 34 which is adjustably attached by links 32 to a pivoted cross-piece 23 so that the drills are selfsetting by gravity to a vertical position. The drills 34 are driven by a shaft 26 connected by belts 28 to a shaft driven by gearing from a shaft 5 forming part of a machine 1 to which the head 4 is attached. Feet 35 limit the lower position of the drills 34 in the ground.
