Abstract

898,845. Opening fibrous material. FLEISSNER G.m.b.H. Jan. 9, 1959 [Jan. 9, 1958], No. 874/59. Class 120(1) Blocks of fibrous material, such as wool, cotton, cellulose and the like, are disintegrated in a machine provided with a support for the fibre block rotatable about a vertical axis and a toothed wheel rotated on an axis at rightangles to the axis of rotation of the fibre block support to break up the block and project the fibres into an adjacent bin. The toothed wheel 10 is mounted on a pivoted frame member 14 that is gradually lowered during disintegration of a block supported on the turntable 2 by a cable or rope 19 associated with a windlass 18. The member 14 directs fibres on to conveyer belts 26, 27.
