A teat for a baby's feeding bottle has external fluting 21, which enables small quantities of air to enter the baby's mouth during feeding and an air vent 23 extending through a flange 15 from an external pocket 24 in the teat wall for preventing the formation of vacuum in the bottle during feeding. The teat wall is strengthened by internal bosses or ribs, Fig. 2 (not shown). The flange 15 may have a thinner diaphragm portion in the region of the vent 23, Fig. 1A (not shown).
