Abstract

860,466. Igniting burners. LODGE PLUGS Ltd. July 1, 1958 [May 14, 1957], No. 15206/57. Class 75 (3). [Also in Group XXVII]. In a glow plug or hot bulb igniter wherein a tube or other element 16 or 23 is carried by a body member 10 or 27 adapted to be secured to a combustion chamber with the tube or element projecting into the chamber, the tube or element is resiliently supported on a seating within the body member. In Fig. 1 the tube 16 is of platinum or platinum alloy. The metallic plug 17 may be solid. In Fig. 2 the tube 23 is of a ceramic such as for example a silicon carbide or again recrystallized allumina. The body member may be of nickel chromium alloy.
