Abstract

866,927. Parquet floor panels. FAYERS, W. J. Nov. 7, 1958 [Nov. 12, 1957; June 5, 1958], Nos. 35241/57 and 18019/58. Class 87(1) A parquet floor panel 1b comprises rectangular blocks 3b arranged in rows so as to form at least two side-by-side herring-bone patterns with triangular projections 8 and recesses 6 on two opposite sides and peak portions 10 and recesses 12 on the other sides. The blocks are carried by a backing or removable facing sheet or strips of plywood, canvas, metal foil or paper. To provide straight edges to a floor, sub-units 40-44, 47-49, 51 formed by transverse and/or longitudinal division of a panel 1b are employed. A surround may be formed by units 31, 32, 35, 38. In a modification; the panel comprises three side-by-side herring-bone patterns. In another form, Fig. 8, the herring-bone patterns are formed by pairs of blocks 3a, 3b.
