864,965. Laminates. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Feb. 6, 1959 [March 27, 1958; Oct. 6, 1958], No. 4238/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 140. [Also in Groups V and XIII] A refrigerator cabinet has its inner liner and outer shell made of one integral plastic sheet and plastic cellular insulation material is disposed therebetween and bonded thereto by forming in situ to impart structural strength. The insulation may be foamed polyurethane, phenolic resins, urea resins, vinyl resins, polystyrenes, polyethylenes, or polypropylenes. The sheet is any of the following: 1, an inner layer of a copolymer of a nitrile skeleton with acrylonitrile and styrene grafted on and surface layers consisting of a copolymer of a vinyl skeleton with acrylic molecules grafted on; 2, polystyrene or polymethylstyrene either alone or modified with a styrene-butadiene or butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer; 3, terpolymers of styrene, butadiene and acrylonitrile; 4, styrene-acrylonitrile copolymers either alone or mixed with the terpolymer of 3 above or the copolymers mentioned in 2 above; 5, polyolefines ; 6, copolymers of propylene or ethylene with butene; 7, cellulose esters; 8, acetobutyrate; 9, cellulose ethers; 10, cellulose propionate; 11, vinylidene esters; 12, epoxy, phenolic or polyester resins with or without fibreglass. Materials 2-7 above may be coated with acrylic, polyester, polyformaldehyde or plasticized vinyl resins.
