Abstract

A sealed ampoule having a breakable tip and containing a drug under pressure, is connected to an injection needle by a flexible tube, part of which is of rubber or similar material and contains a ball for use as a valve, while the remainder is of transparent material. The transparent part may be of polyvinyl chloride and any blood passing back through the needle can be seen. The permanent and immediate resilience of the rubber tube when used in conjunction with the ball ensures that the valve operates with maximum efficiency. Specification 674,380 is referred to.
