Abstract

856,356. Tunnels. HERZBRUCH, P., and HERZBRUCH, H., [trading as HERZBRUCH UND SOHNE, H.]. March 23, 1959 [Feb. 5, 1959], No. 9896/59. Class 85. Hydraulically operated apparatus for placing tunnel lining blocks 8 into position comprises a chassis 2 running on rails 9, a frame 4 mounted on the chassis by means of a turntable 3, an arm 5 adjustable in length and moveable about a pivot 6 on the frame, and gripping means 7 for engaging the blocks. The blocks may be removed from a truck 16 by a winch 13 and placed on a support 12 adjustably secured to the chassis. In the modification shown in Fig. 3 the apparatus runs on overhead rails 10.
